    Beijing Tibet Tour Day-by-day Itinerary

    Day 1 Entry Beijing
    Arrive in Beijing and be greeted by our tour guide who will escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure .

    Our first stop this morning will be Tian`an Men Square, the heart of Beijing and then tour the Forbidden City, the most complete ancient imperial palace in the world. After lunch Temple of Heaven
    , the largest building complex in ancient times dedicated to rituals that pay homage to the glory of heaven. End your day with another highlight, Kongfu show in the evening. (B,L)

    Day 3 Beijing
    Visit the Badaling Great Wall, one of the man-made wonders of the world.,After lunch The Scared Way and next explore the Ming Tombs, home to the burial chambers of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. At the end of the day, indulge in a succulent Peking Duck dinner (B,L,D)

    Day 4 Beijing to Lhasa
    In the morning ,visit the Summer Palace, one of Chinas largest and best-preserved imperial gardens. After lunch visit Lama Temple. Then take train to Lhasa and (B,L,D)

    You can view the scenery along the road to Lhasa

    Day 6 Arrive in Lhasa.
    Upon your arrival, our local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa city. check in hotel and have good rest. (D)

    Day 7 Lhasa

    Today’s highlights are Potala Palace and JokhangTemple. (B,L,D)

    Potala Palace: The cardinal landmark of Lhasa, Potala Palace, is a structure of massive portions. Its towering image already appearing on various occasions, but your first sight of the Potala will still be an awe-inspiring moment. Potala Palace is a place where you can appreciate the Tibetan culture, religion and art of architecture as well.

    Jokhang Temple - JokhangTemple is the spiritual center of Tibet. Every day, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple to pray for their now and future. The temple is the product of Han, Tibetan and Nepalese architectural techniques. Around the temple is the Barkhor Street, the oldest street in a very traditional city in Tibet. We can have a visit after the Jokhang visit.

    Day 8 Lhasa

    Todays highlights are Tibet Museum and Sera monastery. (B,L,D)

    Tibet Museum: The TibetMuseum is located in the southeast corner of Norbu Lingka, Lhasa city. It covers an area of 23,508 square meters including the exhibition area of 10,451 square meters. The museum is equipped with modern facilities to ensure quality service for visitors and safety and efficient administration of the museum itself. Here exhibits are introduced in Japanese, English, Tibetan, and Chinese, in order to accommodate visitors from all over the world.

    Sera monastery: Sera monastery is one of the greatest Gelugpa monasteries. Around 5km north of central Lhasa, It was founded in 1419 by Jamchen Choje, one of the eight disciples of Tsongkhapa, the founder of Gelugpa Sect, covering an area of 114,964 square metres. The structure is imposing, picturesque in disorder, and splendid in green and gold. It is a typical Tibetan architecture. The Buddhism Scriptures Debating in Sera is very famous.

     

    Day 9 Lhasa-Shigatse
    Today’s highlights are YamdroktsoLake and Palkhor monastery. We will drive to Shigatse. Make a tour to YamdroktsoLake on the way. [B+L+D]

    Yamdroktso Lake:Yamdroktso Lake is a coiling, many-armed body of water shaped like a scorpion. It doubles back on itself on the western side, effectively creating a large island within its reaches. For Tibetans, it is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet.

    Palkhor monastery: Palkhor monastery, built in the 15th century, is situated in the west of GyantseTown with mountains enclosing form three sides of the east, west and north. Its uniqueness is that its three sects of Buddism-Shaja, Ningma and Guolu stayed harmoniously under one roof. We will stay in Shigatse tonight.

    Today’s highlight is Tashilumpo monastery. (B,L,D)

    Shigatse is the second largest city in Tibet. It is also the home town of Panchen Lama. Today, we will drop a visit of Tashilumpo monastery. Tashilumpo monastery sprawls on the slops of Mt.Niser, southwest of Shigatse. It covers an area of about 300,000 square meters. There are many valuable and rare historical articles in the monastery. Also we will go around the local free market to see what the local peoples business looks like. After then, we will drive back to Lhasa along the YurlongTsangpo River. [B+L+D]

     

    Day 11 Leave Lhasa
    Transfer to airport and take your flight back for Beijing.[B+L]
