    Beijing & Yangtze River

If you can see only one city in China, it should be Beijing, because many of the capitals "bests" are also Chinas "bests." Best known among these are the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, Tianan Men Square, and the Great Wall -- bedazzling and symbolic structures without which no trip to the country would be complete. If you have more time in China. Yangtze River (Changjiang), is another must-see site. It is the largest and longest river in China, and the third-longest in the world, next only to the Nile in northeast Africa and the Amazon in South America. The most impressive section of the river is the three Yangtze River gorges: Qutang Gorge, Wuxia Gorge and Xiling Gorge, collectively known as Sanxia, or the Three Gorges.
