    Brief Introduction of Great Wall

     

    The Great Wall , one of the greatest wonders of the world, was built to keep the Mongol tribes out of China. It was also built to link protection into a defense system.. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall stretches approximately 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles ) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections of the great wall are now in ruins or even entirely disappeared. However, it is still one of the most appealing attractions all around the world.

    Travel Tips

     

    The Great Wall is extremely hard work.  Some sections have steps and railings, other sections are just gradual steep slopes.  Be prepared for extreme temperatures. If you go in summer you will be fried by the sun, in winter you will have a biting wind, extreme sub-zero temperatures, snow and ice.

    The best time to visit the Great Wall are in spring (in the month of May) and autumn (September or early October).Why? It is usually sunny and pretty cooling. And you can just use your umbrella as a walking stick up the wall. During the summer (June to August), it is much hotter in Beijing. If you do not mind having a tan while trekking, they are perfect for you.
