    Silk Road Essence Tour Day-by-day Itinerary

     

    Day 1 Beijing /Urumqi / Kashar    B.L
    Transfer to airport and Morning flight to Urumqi ,then transfer to Kashgar , the westernmost city in China and one that is definitely more Central Asian in feel than it is Chinese. Kashgar is where the Northern and Southern Chinese Silk Routes joined. It is a Melting Pot of various Minority peoples and a city that is obviously very rich in Central Asian culture.

     

    Day 2 kashgar / karakurm Lake   B.L
    Full day visit Karakurm lake

     

    Day 3 Kashgar  B.L
    This morning visit Old Town, with its traditional calligraphy and musical instrument shops as well as eclectic bazaars. Make a visit to the Idkah Mosque with its leafy courtyard and also to the Abakh Hoja Mosque & Mausoleum , which is the tomb of one of Kashgar’s most influential political and Islamic leaders. Visit Sunday Market and a true testament to what the Silk Road was all about – trade. Here you will see local residents and nomadic travelers buying, selling and bartering for almost every commodity available. It’s crowded and noisy and an incredible experience. A visit is also arranged to the Ivan Bazaar, the livestock market and again words can’t do justice to this experience.

     

    Day 4 Kashgar / Urumqi / Turpan B.L
    Morning flight to Urumqi ,  upon arrival transfer to Turpan , visit Emin Minaret, the Karez underground irrigation system.

     

    Day 5 Turpan /Dunhuang  B. L
    Morning visit Flaming Mountain, the Ruins of Gao Chang – an ancient Chinese Silk Road garrison town (where you will be taken by donkey cart to visit the temple area) and the Bezeklik Caves; where “Bezeklik” means “a place with beautiful decorations”. afternoon Visit ancient city of Jiaohe, after dinner take overnight train to Dunhuang

     

    Day 6 Dunhuang  B.L
    Pick you up from railway station and start your visit directly. You will experience a short camel-riding along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Moon Lake. Surrounded by rolling ridges and precipitous cliffs. Nearby, locates the Crescent Moon Lake. It is a natural spring fed pond measuring about 240 meters from east to west, and 50 meters from north to south.

     

    Day 7 Dunhuang / Xian  B.L
    Visit the Mogao Grottoes, a system of 492 Buddhist cave temples. They are the greatest and most consummate repository of historical and cultural collection over a thousand years between China and other nations. Be transferred to airport for your flight to Xian City

     

    Day 8 Xian B.L
    In the morning visit the Terro-cotta Warriors Museum. After lunch, visit the Big Wild Goose Pogoda,  After that you will go and visit the Hui Minority Street to feel the life of locals. Back to the hotel

     

    Day 9 Xian /Beijing: fly back to Beijing B
    Transfer to airport for your morning flight to Beijing.
